Verti Green (Verticillium lecanii)

Acaricide and Insecticide against soft bodied pests

Verticillium can be used against soft bodied pests. This is effective against aphids, jassids, thirps, white flies, mites, mealy bugs, scale insects, leaf webber, green semi lopper, flower webber, leaf minors, leaf hoppers, pod fly etc. causing damages in crops like tea, coffee, cardamom, clove, banana, grapes, citrus, vegetables, beetlevine, potato, floriculture crops, paddy etc. Verticillium is formulated as wettable powder containing a minimum of 10 8 viable Verticillium spores per gram of carrier material. This fungi invade insects by penetrating their cuticle or skin and rapidly multiplies throughout the body. Death of insects is caused by tissue destruction and toxins produced by the fungi. Even after the death of the insects this strain of fungi multiply on the dead insects and pave way for establishing fungal population in the field and prevent further attack of the pests. The soft bodied insect population is maintained well below the economic threshold limit within a period of 7 days by spraying 1% solution of Verticillium to the affected plants.
